Thai Commemorative Note - The 60th Anniversary Of The King's Accession To The Throne

This commemorative note was issued by Bank of Thailand on 9 June 2006 to commemorate the auspicious occasion of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne. A total of 9,999,999 special notes were issued in honour of the revered and beloved Thai monarch.

The front features the portrait of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, King Rama IX, seated on the Royal Throne surmounted by the Nine-Tiered Great White Umbrella of State in Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall. One of the interesting features on the front note is that it has a "blooming lotus design" hologram patch which consists of His Majesty the King's portrait, numbers "60" in Thai and Arabic and displays scattering micro-designs of the Thai word : "Long Live the King".

The back features The portrait of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, King Rama IX, while performing royal activities, Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam in Nakon Nayok province and His Majesty the King visiting his people.
