The Centenary of Thai Banknotes (100 Years)

Thailand is one of the countries in South East Asia that issue the most commemorative banknotes to commemorative auspicious occasions from time to time. This is one of the commemorative banknote that issued by Bank of Thailand on 7 September 2002 to commemorate the Auspicious Occasion of Centenary of Thai Banknotes. This banknote has a dimension of 105 x 165mm. It uses the original design of 1st series of Thai banknote on the reserve side of the note.

The Front features the the King Rama V and King Rama IX

The Back features the an identical note Thai's first series banknote issued in 1902

The Front features the Their Majesties King Phumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) on the right and King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) on the left in their regal attire. The Back features an almost identical 100-Baht Thai banknote (1st Series) that issued on 1 April 1902 during the reign of King Rama V.

This is an actual 1st Series of Thai Banknote issued during reign of King Rama V in 1902.

The first series of Thai Banknote also known as "Uniface Banknote" because they were printed only on one side. This series of banknote were printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company Limited, England in seven denominations i.e. 1 baht, 5 baht, 10 baht, 20 baht, 50 baht, 100 baht and 1000 baht.
