Thai Banknote - King 80th Birthday Anniversary

I bought this unique and beautiful uncut banknote pack while I was traveling to Grand Palace of Thailand located at Bangkok back in May 2008. Unlike other uncut banknotes, this special sheet has its own characteristic where the front features the three different portraits of the His Majesty King of Thailand through his many years of ruling in the country. The back features the life story of His Majesty King of Thailand at various occasions. I must give credits to this banknote designer on his creativity in making such a wonderful uncut banknote. I share with you on the full description of this special uncut banknote as stated in its banknote pack.

This Thai uncut banknote sheet comes with a beautiful design cover

The uncut banknote sheet comprises 1-Baht, 5-Baht and 10-Baht denominations. The banknote paper, incorporated with mould-made three dimensional multi-tone water mark, depicts the constitution placed on traditional-style gilded tray in yellow circle, and the metallic security thread containing translucent micro-characters “80th Birthday Anniversary” in Thai characters, clearly visible when holding the banknote against the light. Under ultraviolet light, the alphabetical codes and serial numbers printed with special red ink turn into luminescing blue, the signatures of Minister of Finance and the Bank of Governor of Thailand printed with special black ink turn into luminescing yellowish-green and the Thai numerals printed with the invisible ink over the watermark turn into luminescing yellow. The security thread embedded in the paper also turns into luminescing yellow.

Each banknote is printed with Thai number and alphabetical code prefix to represent His majesty. The Arabic number and Roman alphabetical code prefix “9K”, followed by Thai or Arabic serial numbers 0000001-9999999, and “9R” followed by Thai or Arabic serial number 0000001-5000000.
